| | | Creator: | Neighborhood Settlement Association | | | Dates: | 1946-1948 | | | Abstract: | The Neighborhood Settlement Association is a cooperative federation of social settlements and agencies in Cleveland, Ohio, founded in 1948 as an outgrowth of the Hiram House Study Committee of the Group Work Council of the Welfare Federation of Cleveland. The association was proposed to furnish technical assistance to participating groups, to plan for meeting new needs throughout the city with the Group Work Council of the Welfare Federation of Cleveland, to coordinate and stimulate participating groups to meet the needs of their respective neighborhoods, to collaborate with other city-wide public and private institutions and agencies in serving neighborhoods, and to help find ways of making more efficient use of existing facilities. Today it is known as the Greater Cleveland Neighborhood Settlement Association. The collection consists of budgets, meeting agenda and minutes, correspondence, replies to questionnaires, and reports concerning the formation of the association and the work of the Hiram House Study Committee and the Group Work Council of the Welfare Federation of Cleveland.
